A special letter from Chris’ first client

ColleenAbout seven years ago I moved to Seattle from Colorado to spend the summer. I had just graduated from college and I had some pounds to show for it; all the quarter-pitcher nights and runs to Taco Bell had done me in. I was wearing a size 12 jeans comfortably (a little wiggle room, not the fresh out of the dryer feel).  Chris and I had gone to “Spider-Man” and had heard that Tobey Maguire had transformed his body in six months. So that was it–that was my goal!

I had the advantage of living with Chris at the time, and though she had not began her career as a trainer yet she knew a great deal about how to kick my sweet little self into shape, and watch my food intake like a hawk. She helped me to manage my diet and would love to try a new exercise she thought of on me. That is when I would find myself balancing on some disc while squatting with a medicine ball and trying not to fall and make an ass of myself.

The results: I more than achieved my goal, lost 22 pounds, reduced my body fat by 3 percent and regained all the strength in my shoulder after rotator-cuff surgery. Chris gave me many gifts that I cherish to this day. She gave me the confidence to wear skinny jeans. She taught me how to eat the right things, but still enjoy some French fries every now and then.

And she gave me the love of exercise. I have completed three sprint triathlons and a half marathon, and am working toward a full marathon. I have taken my love of exercise and tried to give that gift back to my friends and family.

My next challenge is my upcoming wedding. I am hoping to have the best-looking arms in the Emerald City, and if there is anyone who can help me transform this body of mine again–and love and hate her every step of the way–it is Chris.

Thanks for all that you have done for me and those I love, Chris. I can never repay you for the way you have changed my life. You inspire me to be a better me each and every day.

Much love,

Your first client ever,

Colleen
